Because scrub is a privacy tool, you should be able to confirm you got the real file. After downloading, check that its SHA-256 matches the value below.
SHA-256: 248d3c8815940e0dd109948984db69bb991075157b20463eb28cf44eb81c4337
In PowerShell, from your Downloads folder:
Get-FileHash .\scrub.exe
If the two do not match, do not run the file — tell us at The GG Network.
scrub is not code-signed yet, so the first time you run it Windows will show “Windows protected your PC”. That is SmartScreen saying it has not seen this file often enough yet — not that it found anything wrong. To run it anyway: click More info, then Run anyway. If you would rather not, check the SHA-256 above first; that is the same check we would be asking you to trust a certificate to make. A signing certificate is on the list.
macOS and Linux builds are on the way. Want one sooner? Let us know on The GG Network.
